Personal Effectiveness Programme

For most support staff (PAs, administrators etc) the techniques taught in many time management programmes can not be implemented in the jobs they do.

This personal effectiveness programme is different: it will show you techniques you can apply.

Using a combination of lively discussion and practical exercises, this one day workshop will provide you with a wealth of useful tips and time saving techniques that will help you gain more control over your work.

Description of Course

Good time management is a characteristic of top performers. Yet even the most efficient people can develop poor work habits that over time can slow their performance and decrease their personal effectiveness. Often these habits - just because they are habitual - are not even recognised as a problem by the person involved!

This one-day workshop has been specially designed to look at time management principles from the perspective of those who are not in a managerial or a supervisory role (for which our one day Time Management course is more appropriate). It is the perfect course for everyone who is serious about continuous personal improvement.

The programme is run at two venues: London and Oxfordshire. Both venues are conveniently located making it easy for you to travel to and from the course from most locations in a single day.

For training effectiveness the course is run with small numbers. This creates a safe and supportive learning environment in which the tutor will challenge you to take a critical look at your own work habits. Each delegate will be encouraged to identify areas for self-improvement and the techniques they can implement back at work.

On the course itself you will learn about the eight obstacles to mastering your time and the various solutions to overcome these obstacles. Through a mixture of lively discussion, self assessment and specially designed exercises, the principles and practice of effective time management are explored.

The course includes Spearheads unique “Time Orientation Priority Survey” assessment tool. This assessment will help you identify your current work style and habits. Armed with this information you will be able to focus on the techniques discussed in the course that will help you improve your personal effectiveness.

Support for this course continues after the training day. Each delegate receives a full course support pack containing additional tips and information. As well as access to Spearheads post-course support help line where they can talk to their tutor and receive individual post-training help.

In summary, this course, like our other PA training and support staff courses, is a great investment of your time. It can be combined with other one day open courses in our business skills and our secretarial & support skills sections to create your own personal development programme.
