What you will study
Your knowledge of a range of book-keeping and accountacy techniques will be developed, including checking and correcting errors arising from inaccurate/incomplete/missing entries in the ledger and day books; provide for depreciation of fixed assets using ledger accounts; account for accruals, prepayments; provide for bad debts and doubtful debts; prepare individual accounts in purchase and sales ledgers; prepare purchase ledger control accounts and sales ledger control accounts and complete an extended trial balance.
How you will learn
You will attend a structured class organised by the course tutor.
How you will be assessed
Practical tasks are carried out under exam conditions. Tasks are set by City & Guild Pitman Qualifications examiners and exam papers are assessed, marked and graded externally. A two-hour examination (plus 5 minute reading time) will be taken at the end of the course.
Entry Requirements
Candidates are expected to have successfully completed the Manual Book-Keeping and Accounts Level 1 course, or to have a working knowledge to that level.
