What you will study

Six NVQ Diploma units from the Construction Skills Diploma scheme.
Construction Skills Diploma Level 1 and 2.
Functional Skills in English and Maths.




How you will learn

Through tutor-led practical and theory sessions, with some self study using learning packages.


How you will be assessed

For the NVQ Diploma You will be assessed by a Trade assessor on site at work and provide work based evidence of competence.

You will also be assessed in College after completing each unit of study through multiple choice tests and workshop exercises, and multiple choice online tests at both Level 1 and 2.




Entry Requirements

You will need to be in employment in Bricklaying in order to undertake this course. This will be discussed at interview.

However, you will need Level 1 literacy and numeracy qualifications. If you do not have the relevant level of qualification, we can assess your current level of literacy and/or numeracy.



Attendance

Attendance for Level 2 brickwork is on a day release basis, over two 35 week blocks, both starting in September and completing late June. This qualification can be accessed on a modular, roll-on, roll-off basis by negotiation with the course coordination team.
