What you will study
For the full qualification you must complete 9 units: 4 mandatory plus 5 optional units.
Mandatory units:-
* Monitor procedures to safely control work operations
* Provide hairdressing consultations services
* Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques
* Promote additional services or products to customers
Optional units:-
* Colour hair using a variety of techniques
* Provide colour correction services
* Creatively dress long hair
* Develop and enhance creative hairdressing skills
* Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities

Further Details
How you will learn
Through theory sessions and practical workshops. Commercial salon sessions will be arranged but it is essential that you arrange models for yourself for assessment. Independent study at home or in the library.
How you will be assessed
Continual assessment, assignments, written assessments, oral questioning, testimony of others. You will produce a portfolio of evidence of competence.
Entry Requirements
NVQ Level 2. You must be employed in a hairdressing salon or be a self-employed salon owner. Commitment and self-motivation are essential.
Attendance
10 hours per week (Mondays) for 35 weeks.
