What topics are covered by the course?

What you will study
"You will work towards Functional Skills in English and Maths if required alongside the Level 2 NVQ in Warehousing and Storage. For this you will study Health & Safety and developing effective working relationships as mandatory units, plus a selection of optional units from the list below;

Pick goods
Wrap and pack goods
Place goods in storage
Process orders for customers
Assemble orders for dispatch
Maintain the cleanliness of equipment
Keep work areas clean
Maintain hygiene standards in handling and storing goods
Moving and/or handling goods
Use equipment to move goods
Use a compact crane
Use a forklift side-loader
Use a hoist
Use an industrial forklift truck
Keep stock at required levels
Check stock levels and stock records
How you will learn
Much of the learning will take place in your workplace. Your assessor will assign you work to carry out and together with your employer, they will confirm your competence. Your assessor will visit you at your place of work and assess you on your chosen units every 4-6 weeks, you will be observed carrying out your duties within your working environment.

What will I be able to do on completion?

Further study
Choose between widening your experience within the logistics sector or undertaking a relevant Advanced Apprenticeship. This could lead you to a Level 3 Supply Chain Practitioner Apprenticeship to further develop your skills.
