What you will study

The units include health and safety in the workplace, the ability to work effectively with colleagues and obtaining information on goods and modes of transport. They also cover the technical competences required to arrange the international transport of goods along with associated documentation.

How you will learn

The purpose of NVQs is to enable you to demonstrate, through workplace assessments, how well you carry out your normal daily work activities and how much you know about your job and related topics. The bulk of your learning will therefore be in the workplace, but training and support will be provided to enable you to identify areas for development and gain a greater understanding of how your work activities impact on the business.

How you will be assessed

You will be allocated a personal NVQ Assessor who will observe you undertaking your normal work activities and assess your skills and knowledge against industry standards. You will also be required to provide documentary evidence of your competence from the workplace and witness testimonies from your supervisor. Your Assessor will also provide support and guidance in the preparation of an evidence portfolio.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry qualifications, but you must be employed in a management position within the logistics industry.
