What you will study
Throughout the course you will develop your music performance skills, understanding of the music industry, knowledge of music technology software and practical recording techniques. You will explore different styles of music, work actively as part of a group and be encouraged to give and take ideas in the creation of music productions.
Your Course Structure
Classroom: 30%; Practical: 70%
How you will learn
This is a practical performance course with some theory work threaded throughout. You will develop through completing assignments and projects based on activities you might expect to carry out if you were employed in the popular music business.
How you will be assessed
Through performances, practical and theoretical based project work.
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at Grade A* - D including English, plus Maths at grade E, plus a reasonable degree of musical ability on your chosen instrument. You will have an interview and take part in an audition.
Course Costs (subject to change)
Tuition and certification are free if you are aged 16-18 years old. Related additional costs may include materials, equipment, visits, residentials etc which are payable by all students.
Any student entered/registered with an Awarding Body who has been given free entry and then withdraws or is withdrawn by a tutor will incur the certification fee associated with the course. Any re-sit examination will incur a cost.
Different fees apply to international students.
