What you will study

The course covers the following main topics:-

* Personal Development as an HR Practitioner
* The Role of HR within Organisations
* HR Information
* Resourcing Talent
* Employment Relations
* Delivery of Learning and Development

How you will learn

The course provides a series of development modules that address both knowledge and skills. Much of the input is classroom-based but there are also visits such as to an employment tribunal, that will boost your development.

How you will be assessed

The course is continuously assessed; there is no end examination. Successful completion of all assignment and class-based work will result in the award of the Certificate in Human Resource Practice.

Entry Requirements

Learners must possess literacy and numeracy skills of a level that will enable them to successfully complete the course.

Attendance

You will attend for one session per week, either:-

Tuesday 5.45pm - 8.45pm, or
Wednesday 1.45pm - 4.45pm, or
Wednesday 5.45pm - 8.45pm.

It will depend on demand to which sessions we can offer.

Tutorials are offered 5.15pm to 5.45 pm and 1.15pm to 1.45 pm, although you will not always have to attend for this part of the course. Additionally there will be a series of five one-day or half-day workshops held at intervals throughout the year; attendance at these workshops is compulsory as they provide a valuable and integral part of the learning programme.

There is a requirement for group work as part of the formal assessment, and this will require learners to meet with their colleagues outside of the College timetable.

The programme runs for one academic year from September to June.
