What you will study

Theory units such as Key Plumbing Principles, Hot and Cold Water Systems and Central Heating Systems. These will be closely related to practical tasks such as the fitting of a complete bathroom suite and the installation of a tank and cylinder undertaken in the College workshop areas that simulate real life working environments.

Your Course Structure

Classroom: 40%; Practical: 60%;

How you will learn

By a mixture of practical activities in the workshop and theory classes involving lectures, discussions and resource-based learning.

How you will be assessed

All practical activities will be assessed in the College workshop. Theory multi-choice papers will be taken throughout the year, with one online test at the end of the course. In addition, there will be a work-based assessment during the latter half of the course.


Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade A* - C including English, Maths and a Science. Alternatively, by successful completion of the Level 1 Plumbing Certificate together with Level 1 Functional Skills in both literacy and numeracy.

Attendance

This Diploma is a one year, full time course. You will be expected to attend College three days per week from the start of September through to the end of June.
