What you will study
Introduction to the hair and beauty sector, personal and social development, presenting a professional image in a salon, create an image using colour for the hair and beauty sector. Health and safety, basic manicures and pedicures, basic skin care and make- up, provide basic nail art, salon reception duties and creating retail displays head massage, themed face painting, the art of photographic make-up and head massage, shampoo and conditioning hair, hair plaiting and styling women’s hair.
Your Course Structure
Classroom: 35%; Practical: 65%
How you will learn
By observing demonstrations, practising your skills and learning the theory behind the practice. You will spend at least Three days in College with one day study leave to research and produce documentation for projects and assignments
How you will be assessed
Practical assessment through observation of skills and oral questioning. Theoretical assessment through assignments, project and written tests. You will have the opportunity to build up your qualifications throughout the year.
