How you will learn
Through a mixture of learning methods including lectures, workshops, discussion, case studies, practical exercises and tutorials.
How you will be assessed
Assessment is continuous and will be by assignments in the form of practice-based reports and investigations, time constrained assignments, presentations, projects, portfolios, reflective accounts and negotiated contracts.
Entry Requirements
Mature applicants (over 21) who do not have the appropriate qualifications should contact the tutor.
Applications are welcomed from persons who can demonstrate relevant work experience (including voluntary work) and may be admitted on the basis of non-certificated experiential learning. Claims for Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) and Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) are actively supported.
Applicants under 21 will need:-
* GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and normally also in Maths.
* One six-unit qualification at Advanced level (GCE/VCE Advance Level or New Nationals) plus three other subjects at GCSE grade C or above.
* Relevant National Certificate/Diploma or suitable bridging course.
Students will need an appropriate level of literacy and numeracy to enable them to meet the requirements of independent study at this level. In the absence of formal qualifications students must be able to demonstrate appropriate levels of numeracy and literacy through the Wakefield College screening process.
Attendance
Three years part-time, one evening per week (currently Tuesdays, 5.30 pm - 8.30 pm, with some individual tutorials held beforehand from 5 pm - 5.30 pm).
