What you will study
This is a 16-unit qualification, with units of study covering a wide range of topics within Popular Music. An exploration of the theoretical concepts associated with popular music underpins the practical aspects of the course. Areas that are explored include the historical development of popular music, the music business and the entrepreneur, composing, songwriting, music technology and studio recording.

How you will learn
The course is predominantly performance-led and you will perform music created specifically for the style and context of an array of local and national venues. Through practical classes you will develop a wide range of techniques, and other teaching methods include formal lectures, seminars, tutorials and reflective practice.

Continuous assessment, externally verified.
Entry Requirements
A Level or a Level 3 Diploma in a related subject. Mature learners over 21 may be accepted on non-academic or vocational skills and this can be discussed at interview. We also welcome applications from those with non-standard qualifications.
