This is a two day first aid at work re-qualifying course which is HSE approved as required by the First Aid Regulations 1981. It is designed for those who already hold a First Aid at Work qualification.

Course Content
The delegate will be taught in the following key areas based on first aid in the workplace. The course will be tailored to individual workplaces where appropriate.
Subjects taught:
* Legislation/ Record Keeping
* Accident Approach
* Dealing with unconsciousness
* Treating someone who has stopped breathing and whose heart has stopped
* Dealing with wounds & bleeding
* Recognising medical conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy & asthma
* Treating broken bones and soft tissue injuries
* Recognising hypothermia and treating it
* Looking after burns and scalds
* How to help a poisoned victim
* Obtaining advanced medical assistance
* Legislation and first aid kits
Assessment
Their tutor throughout the course will continually assess delegates. At the end of the course independant
assessor(s) will assess delegates twice in their practical skills (CPR & INJURY). Upon successful completion of these assessments the delegate will be awarded a HSE First Aid at Work certificate which will be valid for three years.
