The Silk Trends Academy ‘Simply Afro’ Course has been designed as an introduction to Afro Hairdressing and covers all the essential foundation skills needed to provide Afro Hairdressing services. All aspects of working with Afro hair including natural afro hair maintenance (e.g. wash and blow dry, treatments, thermal pressing, natural twists, gel comb twists), hair braiding (cornrows and single plaits, and extensions), basic colouring and cutting, finishing techniques and styling techniques will be covered.
The course is an ideal way to gain the confidence to work with Afro and Mixed Textured hair. Class sizes are kept low, max 5 students per session, to ensure you get the support you need.

Simply Afro Course
The course is delivered over 12 weeks (one 3-hour evening session per week), and is an ideal way to gain the confidence to work with Afro and mixed textured hair.
Duration: 12 weeks (1 evening per week – 6.30pm – 9.30pm)

On successful completion of the course, students will receive the Silk Trends Academy Diploma certificate.
Our tutor is a qualified Lecturer in Hairdressing and NVQ assessor, with over 30 years experience in the hairdressing industry. The course is design to National Standards and will act as sound foundation to offer Afro Hairdressing Services.
