Course structure
The course consists of two units. Unit HAW1 is a taught unit of 35 hours and HAW2 is a practical, workplace-based assessment which must be taken within 14 days of the HAW1 written assessment.

Unit HAW1 is a taught unit assessed by one two-hour written examination.
Unit HAW2 is assessed by one three-hour practical assessment to be undertaken in the candidate’s own workplace. This must be taken within 14 days of the date of the HAW1 written papers.
