with a basic knowledge of employment law, gained either from on-the-job experience and/or attendance at one or more of our employment law conferences, seminars or workshops.
ACEL is fully accredited by the CIPD. Many Advanced Certificate students are already full CIPD members, who wish to take their employment law knowledge and expertise to a much higher level.
Equally, students who successfully complete the ACEL are granted exemption from the employment law elective on the CIPD Professional Development Scheme.

How does the certificate work?
Candidates must attend 13 days of training at times to suit them, over up to two years.
The Advanced Certificate comprises 3 parts:
Part One – Trainer-led study.
Attendance on 13 days of modular training (all compulsory):
Induction Day
Making and Varying Employment Contracts
Family-friendly Rights and the Law
Transfer of Undertakings
Essential Discrimination Law
Employment Tribunals
Discipline, Grievances and Dismissal
Employee Relations, Trade Unions & the Law
Revision Day
Part Two - Assignment
3,000 word written assessment
Part Three - Examination
The CIPD National Employment Law Examination. JSB students consistently achieve pass rates well above the national average.
Students who do not wish to take the examination or submit an assignment will be provided with a special ‘Certificate of Attendance’.
