Administering first aid to a casualty who is wounded and/or in shock
Administering first aid to a casualty who is choking
Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries
Recognising the presence of major illness
The role of the first aider
Understanding the importance of basic hygiene in first aid procedures
Assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.
Administering first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure
Administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This 3 day nominated person workshop for First Aid is for anyone who wishes to gain useful information to help deal with common, urgent and emergency care situations, ranging from a nosebleed or sunburns to a life-threatening heart attack or stroke.

Workshop Aims
As a result of the 3 day nominated person workshop for first aid you will be able to:
deal effectively with emergencies at work;
Treat casualties suffering from a range of injuries including shock, broken bones, burns and poisoning; the importance of preventing infection; and getting the casualty safely to medical professionals.
Maintain legal records on the treatment and management of injuries.
