How does it work?
To achieve a full Level 3 NVQ in Business Improvements, candidates must achieve nine units made up of seven mandatory units and two additional optional units.

The mandatory units are:
Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
Contributing to effective team working
Leading effective teams
Applying workplace organisation (5S / 5C)
Applying continuous improvement techniques (Kaizen)
Creating flexible production and manpower systems
Creating visual management systems
The optional units, of which two must be chosen, are:

Analysing and selecting parts for improvements
Carrying out lead time analysis
Carrying out value stream mapping (VSM)
Applying set-up reduction techniques (SMED)
Applying problem solving techniques
Carrying out statistical process control procedures (SPC)
Applying flow process analysis
Applying policy deployment (HOSHIN KANRI)
Applying value management
Carrying out potential failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
Carrying out measurement systems analysis (MSA)
Carrying out mistake / error proofing (Poka Yoke)
Creating standard operating procedures

Who is this course for
The NVQ Level 3 in Business Improvement Techniques is primarily aimed at candidates who are employed as Supervisors, Team Leaders or Facilitators, and are responsible for carrying out business improvement activities or people being prepared to take on staff responsibilities in a business improvement environment.
