The aim of the course is to provide the candidate with basic knowledge and awareness of Dementia and how to assist people with Dementia as an individual.

• Supporting eating, drinking and personal care
• Building and maintaining relationships
• Understanding difficult behaviour
• Working together for quality Dementia care
All of our care courses meet the requirement of the Care Standards Act 2000 and are approved by ‘Skills for Care’
This course is run inline with the Alzheimer’s Society guidelines.
The course is classroom based with facilitated group discussions. At the end of the course delegates complete a multiple choice test paper and receive a certificate of attendance. There is no mandatory re-qualification period but it’s recommended that a refresher is taken at least every year.

All of our trainers have worked in both public and private sector so fully understand the day to day demands.
