The aim of the course is to train the candidate in Basic Food Hygiene in which to build good practice of Food Hygiene in the work place

The Danger Zone and High Risk Foods
Contamination and Prevention of Illness
Preparing and Presenting Food
Delivery and Storage
Personal Hygiene
Cleaning and Disinfection
Food Pests
The course is a mixture of guided class room based learning, practical exercises and facilitated group discussions.
At the end of the course delegates complete a multiple choice test paper and receive a certificate of attendance. There is no mandatory re-qualification period but its recommended that a refresher is taken at least every 2 years.
The duration of the course is : 5 - 7 GLH
