The aim of this course is to provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and training to enable them to be able to deal with an emergency situation in the initial stages and to help ensure safe evacuation of a building.

What to do in an emergency.
The different types of fire extinguishers and their uses
How fires start and spread
Managing Fire Risk
Fire Drills & Alarm Testing
Fire Signage
Fire Prevention
Roles of a fire marshal.
Emergency evacuation control
The course is a mixture of guided class room based learning and practical exercises.
At the end of the course delegates complete a multiple choice test paper and receive a certificate of attendance. There is no mandatory re-qualification period but under current guidelines its recommended that a refresher is taken at least every 3 years.
The duration of the course is between: 4 6 GLH
