Our CCTV (PSS) course is a four day course. The Security Industry Authority (SIA) recognises that it is essential for all CCTV (public space surveillance) operators to have undergone a structured programme of training if they are to carry out their role effectively and professionally. They require each operative to have done30 hours of training which is covered over the 4 days training with Success.
This qualification will benefit anyone in the security industry working with the public, who wish to become a qualified CCTV Operative. This is the minimum requirement the Security Industry Authority (SIA) will accept for an individual to qualify as a CCTV Operator in Scotland.
There are three main areas a candidate must complete to successfully apply for their SIA Licence
1. Pass an Identity Check
2. Pass a criminal record check
3. Possess a recognised CCTV (PSS) qualification
Who should Attend?
This qualification is suitable for all employees wishing to become a qualified SIA CCTV Operator. This BIIAB course covers the standards laid out by the SIA to enable the individual to apply for and achieve the SIA Close Circuit Television (Public Space Surveillance) Licence.

· Civil & Criminal Law relevant to CCTV (PSS)
· Relevant drug legislation and its relevance to the role of a CCTV
Course Content & Duration
The qualification consists of three modules of which you will receive 1 credit for each module you complete; all three must be completed to apply for your SIA Licence to Practice in the Industry.
Module 1 – Working in the Private Security Industry
Module 2 – Working as a CCTV Operator
Module 3 – Practical CCTV Operation
The course is 4 days in duration (30 hours including exams)
Assessment Method & Certification
The assessment will be by the completion of a multiple-choice questions paper (Exam) module 1 & 2. Module 3 is a physical assessment carried out by the tutor and covers all procedures in the use of a basic CCTV system. On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a BIIAB certificate, which allows the candidate to apply for their SIA Licence.
