Course Syllabus
The course is delivered using a mixture of practical and theory sessions relating to injury and illness related emergencies, including:
Priorities of First Aid and incident management
Basic Life Support including airway management and CPR
Unconsciousness and the Recovery Position
Choking
Shock management
Severe bleeding and amputation (causes, management and bandaging)
Crush injuries and internal bleeding
Head and skull injuries (including eye injuries)
Burns
Fractures
Poisoning and allergic reactions including anaphylaxis
Bites and stings
Electric shock
Extremes of temperature
Spinal injury management
Accident reporting and COSHH
