Supervisory development (2 days)
This 2 day course can be tailored to one day.
Staff are often promoted into their first supervisory role and, due to lack of time or budget, expected to ‘get on with it’ as if it’s a small extension to their previous role, using the same knowledge and skills. However this is far from the case. Not only do they need an additional set of skills to utilise but it is also a fundamental shift in their relationship with their staff, particularly if they have promoted from within, they need to adapt to. This training course helps to establish the ‘role model’ behaviours required of the first line manager, where they are clearly moved to the ‘management’ side of the divide, but very often need to straddle the manager-staff line - be a bit of a gate-keeper at times.
The training course focuses on helping people understand their new role, identify strengths and development areas and provide a set of tools (tips, tactics, skill processes) that helps them adapt their managerial ability to become better Supervisors / Team Leaders.
