The Experienced Worker Practical Assessed Route (EWPAR) is an alternative method of NVQ. It is designed to assess experienced candidates who wish to demonstrate their competence. It uses a one-off practical assessment as opposed to the current method of observation on site combined with portfolio building.

3. Recorded Professional Discussion
4. EWPAR test
There is no training involved in the EWPA route and it is very unlikely that someone with less than 2 years operating experience will have the skills or the evidence to be successful at this route.
