The 'Introduction to Mentoring' Award is suitable for any person who wishes to find out what mentoring is all about or for those who wish to endorse their practice with a Nationally Accredited Qualification. It is also suitable for organisations who wish to implement a mentoring culture.

This course will enable you to:
- Know what is meant by Mentoring
- Understand the need to respect individuality and
difference within the mentoring relationship
- Explain the principle of mentoring
- Describe the key qualities, values and skills of a
mentor and give examples of where they can be applied.
- Identify self-development needs in order to meet the
qualities and skills of a mentor.
- Give examples of how life events might influence a
person’s identity, views and behaviour towards other
people.
- Explain why it is important to be non-judgemental and
accepting differences in others.
