The first leadership role is the most demanding of all, and yet individuals are often ill-prepared for the promotion. Selection for the first team leadership role is often based on demonstrating a good performance as a team member. The newly promoted team leader is not only faced for the first time with the challenge of providing organisation, motivation and leadership, but also of quickly establishing new working relationships and the respect of team members.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for practising or potential team leaders from all sectors of industry and commerce. It is especially suitable for those who have little previous formal training or those who require both an introduction to the role and a better understanding of the challenges involved. The course is effective as a ‘stand alone’ programme but also forms the first module of the eight-day ‘Complete Team Leader’ course, for those needing to extend and develop their range of skills.
