The aim of this course is to provide nominated persons with a sound knowledge and understanding of emergency first aid procedures when dealing with medical emergencies within the workplace.
Subject to ongoing assessment, all delegates will receive a certificate of attendance, Appointed Person - Emergency First Aid in the Workplace, valid for a period of 3 years.
The course duration is seven hours, three hours longer than required by the DfES, who advise a minimum of four hours. C.S.T.S would normally deliver the course between 0900 – 1630 (Half hour lunch, two mid-session fifteen minute coffee breaks), however the times can be altered subject to a thirty minute meal break. In addition, the course can also be delivered over a two day period in order to support “Family Friendly” training.
First Aid compliance is not as expensive as you may think. It does not matter how small your business is, you are obliged to provide some form of first aid provision based on a risk assessment of the workplace environment and duties carried out by your employees.
