Information Technology (I.T.) aims to encourage learners to develop and demonstrate their ability in using I.T. for searching, analysing and presenting information (text, numbers and images). The modules are primarily concerned with developing and recognising the students ability to select and use I.T. skills in ways that are appropriate to the student's particular employment or other studies.
The syllabus covers skills such as entering, searching for and formatting data within word processing, spreadsheets and database software packages. This is in addition to considering the use of computers, the health and safety considerations when using computer equipment and explanations of the components of a computer. No particular hardware or software is stipulated with the modules
