The practical elements in this course will provide the learner with the relevant experience in wall and floor tiling. The learner will be shown, how to apply tiles and to avoid common mistakes, such as uneven walls.

Week 1
Overview of the tools that are used, common adhesives as well as a demonstration on how they're used and maintained.
Estimating
Health & Safety regulations outlined as industry standards.
Week 2
Preparation, marking, measuring, spacing and cutting tiles for work areas
Mixing and applying grout
Week 3
Setting up Dantum line using various methods
Preparing a wall area and marking out grout rod
Removing surplus
Highlighting potential hazards
Fixing tiles to selected wall areas
Fixing batterns to wall areas
Cutting tiles with Octagonal patterns to fully tile kitchen and bathroom areas
Week 4 - 6
Competent learners in wall tiling will be allowed to develop their skills in floor tiling
How to prepare floor areas for tiling
Which tolls and adhesives to use for laying a floor
Tiling, spacing and lining
Grout and measure out around pedestal
Hand cutting and sawing required tile shapes
