This course is designed to give you the learner a wide range of hands on experience within the construction industry and working on live site, whilst being aware of the health and safety site regulations.

Observe the work place and surrounding area.
Find out where the nearest water supply and electrical supply are situated
Look for any dangers or hazards, roads, overhead cables, parked cars etc.
If materials or plant are being delivered look for the safest and most convenient drop off position.
Setting out of materials for
1. Brick wall.
2. Block wall
3. Cavity wall.
Correct method for loading materials for ground floor Job/Project
Correct method for loading materials on a scaffold or working platform.
Correct way to load and unload wheelbarrow for
1. Bricks
2. Blocks.
3. Mortar
Correct way of loading and unloading mixer with
1. Sand, cement and water.
2. Sand, cement, lime and water.
Correct way of adding plastercizer by liquid or powder.
Correct method of loading mortar/spot boards
Correct method of cleaning
1. Walls.
2. Mortar droppings.
3. Mixer
4. Wheelbarrow and tools.
If the job/project is on going the correct way to protect the work already carried out and cover and protect the materials for the next site/project visit.
Ensure the materials are stacked and loaded correctly for the protection of other operatives and the general public.
In addition to this practical training that has been specifically designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to source employment as a site operative; you will also receive a City & Guilds Power Tools Qualification and undertake CSCS training and test.
