Outline
You’ll complete one formative assessment and one practical assignment for each of the four units, meaning that you will complete four formative assessments and four practical assignments in total.
It is simple and easy to complete the formative assessments online via the ICS Student Community. When you complete an assessment online, it is marked instantly, meaning that you receive your result straightaway. This allows you to progress through your course without delay. It is, however, also possible to handwrite your answers and post these to ICS.
Due to the nature of the practical assignments, these must be posted to ICS.
Assessment Breakdown
Principles and Practices of Beauty Treatments
Formative Assessment 1: 24 multiple choice questions
Practical Assignment 1: you will be required to interview a practising, qualified beauty therapist or salon owner. You will then prepare a written assignment based on the results of this interview.
Basic Skin Care and Facials
Formative Assessment 2: 20 multiple choice questions
Practical Assignment 2: you will be required to demonstrate the skills you have learnt in the Basic Skin Care and Facials unit by treating a client. You will photograph the results, interview the client, and then prepare a written assignment based on the photographs and the interview.
Make-up
Formative Assessment 3: 20 multiple choice questions
Practical Assignment 3: you will be required to demonstrate the skills you have learnt in the Make-up unit by treating a client. You will photograph the results, interview the client, and then prepare a written assignment based on the photographs and the interview.Manicures and Pedicures
Formative Assessment 4: 20 multiple choice questions
Practical Assignment 4: you will be required to demonstrate the skills you have learnt in the Manicures and Pedicures unit by treating a client. You will photograph the results, interview the client, and then prepare a written assignment based on the photographs and the interview.
