You’ll complete eleven formative assessments and six exams during your course.
Assessment Breakdown

Formative Assessments 1-6: you will complete 2 formative assessments on each unit, except for Unit 2 (Core Maths 2), for which you will complete just 1 formative assessment
Exam 1 (AS level): approximately 10 questions, which must be completed without any calculating aids. This exam must be completed within 1 hour 30 minutes.
Exam 2 (AS level): approximately 9 questions, which may be completed with access to a simple scientific calculator. This exam must be completed within 1 hour 30 minutes.
Exam 3 (AS level): approximately 7 questions, which may be completed with access to a simple scientific calculator. This exam must be completed within 1 hour 30 minutes.
Exam 4 (A2 level): approximately 7 questions, which may be completed with access to a simple mathematical calculator. This exam must be completed within 1 hour 30 minutes.
Exam 5 (A2 level): approximately 7 questions, which may be completed with access to a simple scientific calculator. This exam must be completed within 1 hour 30 minutes.
Exam 6 (A2 level): approximately 7 questions, which may be completed with access to a simple scientific calculator. This exam must be completed within 1 hour 30 minutes.
Notes
Formative assessments are intended to help both you and your tutor measure your progress through the course, highlighting any areas where revision is necessary. Formative assessments do not, however, count towards your final grade.
The exams are held in January and June of each year. Please note that exam fees are additional to your course fees.
