Microsoft - MCTS .NET 3.5 Web and Data Applications - Benefits
Benefits of MCTS certification

An MCTS certification highlights your areas of expertise, so that your skills and knowledge stand out to hiring managers and project leads
By earning multiple MCTS certifications, you can demonstrate your breadth of knowledge of Visual Studio 2008. You can also build on your MCTS certifications to earn a Professional Series credential
MCTS certification grants you access to the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) community and benefits, including a personal profile on Microsoft.com and access to the Microsoft Knowledge Base

Benefits of IT certification
For IT managers, certification is particularly important because it allows them to more easily identify the skills that an individual possesses. When a company has employees that possess certain skills, it can garner a competitive advantage when seeking to attract customers. Certification can also contribute to increased productivity, because studies have shown that certified individuals are generally quicker to implement and design new technologies. And of course by knowing that their employees are certified, IT managers can feel more confident about their ability to implement and support a network infrastructure.O
