Existing MCAD certification candidates must pass one certification exam to earn MCPD: Windows Developer certification and one certification exam to earn MCPD: Web Developer. The exams provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise. During the MCPD Upgrade Firebrand Training, students will take the following exams:

• Web Application Development Exam 70-551*-UPGRADE: MCAD Skills to MCPD Web Developer by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework


• Windows Application Development Exam 70-552*-UPGRADE: MCAD Skills to MCPD Windows Developer by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework

Examination Passing Policy
Should a student complete a Firebrand Training Program without having successfully passed all vendor examinations, the student may re-attend that program for a period of one year.  Students will only be responsible for accommodations and vendor exam fees.








Microsoft - MCPD Upgrade from MCAD to MCPD  - Prerequisites
Successful Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) candidates are expected to have taken and passed the following MCAD exams:
Developing and Implementing Windows-based Applications with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET (70-306)
or
Developing and Implementing Windows-based Applications with Microsoft Visual C# .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET (70-316)
plus
Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET (70-305)
or
Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual C# and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET (70-315)
In addition you should candidates should possess the following experience:

• At least two years of experience developing applications by using the Microsoft .NET Framework


• At least three to four years of on-the-job experience dedicated to Web application development


• A working knowledge of Visual Studio 2005

We interview all applicants for the course on their technical background, degrees and certifications held, and general suitability. If you get through this screening process, it means you stand a great chance of passing.
Firebrand Training is an immersive training environment. You must be committed to the course. The above prerequisites are guidelines, but many students with less experience have other background or traits that have enabled their success in accelerated training through Firebrand Training.
