During the course students will:
- develop an understanding of the nature of psychology
- examine the way in which human actions can be explained on a number of different levels
- distinguish between emotional experience, expression and psychological responses
- examine the nature of sensation and perception
- understand the process of memory
- distinguish between the characteristics of classical and operant conditioning
- evaluate how we form impressions of people
- consider the processes of social facilitation and social influence
Student Profile:
This course can be studied at your own pace and there are no deadlines to meet. However you must complete the course within 12 months from the date you received the course. To complete this course it will take in the region of 100 study hours which can be spread over the 12 month period.
Study Method:
The course is designed for study by distance learning at work or at home. Students receive course manual, assignments and studyguide plus tutor support.
Qualification:
The course is accredited at level 3 by OCN. OCN is licensed with the National Open College Network which is approved as an awarding body with the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).
Assessment:
Assessment takes the form of a series of tutor marked assignments which can be submitted to your tutor by e-mail or post, there is no word count for these assignments, however you must prove to your tutor that you have fully understood the assignment and one sentence answers will be rejected.
Location:
The programme is home or work-based enabling students to complete the course without having to attend scheduled college teaching sessions.
Payment Method:
You can choose to pay in full at the time of ordering, or you can pay in monthly installments. However you will not receive the discount if you choose to pay in installments.
