The Level 2 Award and Certificate for Developing Enterprise Capabilities are both designed to provide recognition of enterprise education, skills and attributes. The two qualifications will help learners understand what enterprise capabilities are, and encourage them to develop their own enterprise skills.
These programmes are designed to explain the qualities and skills needed to be successful in enterprise and for individuals to recognise their own enterprise capabilities. In addition to looking at business enterprise, it encourages the learner to explore social enterprise environments, for example, charities and not-for-profit organisations and organisations within the public sector.
Learners are encouraged to plan their own enterprise project and the steps they would need to take to turn it into reality. This programme can be offered as an award for a short course of one unit or a certificate comprising three units.
These enterprise qualifications share a common unit so that learners can progress from Award to Certificate. Both qualifications have been mapped against the Work Related Learning Framework and the Level 2 Certificate in Developing Enterprise Capabilities also includes content, which helps learners to identify how enterprise capabilities can and should be used in education, work and life.
These qualifications are suitable for candidates of all ages, in a variety of contexts and settings. The qualifications are designed to be flexible and appeal to a wide audience of learners, including learners at school, in further education and higher education, members of community groups, voluntary groups and social groups. These qualifications are suitable to be delivered in both a school and adult education setting.
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for these qualifications. Candidates wishing to undertake these qualifications should hold an appropriate Level 1 qualification or equivalent.
The Award programme consists of one unit:
Unit 1 - Understand and explore enterprise capabilities
The Certificate comprises three mandatory units:
Unit 1 - Understand and explore enterprise capabilities
Unit 2 - Plan and carry out an enterprising project
Unit 3 - Evaluation of enterprise project and self development
