Value Added Per Person (VAPP) is a financial measure that relates the number of people directly involved in the conversion process to add value to the product. The VAPP has a direct impact on the costs associated with a process and shows specifically how well people are used to directly produce the finished product or service. The VAPP measure allows operational processes to be controlled ensuring the maximum difference between output and input values. The output and input values reflect the difference between the final value of the ‘end product’ and the value of inputs used - including external services. This programme looks at the range of issues involved, and how an organisation might set about improving them, and achieving continuous improvement.
