Stock Turns (ST) is a measure of how frequently the stock (raw material, work-in-progress and finished goods) are turned over in relation to the sales revenue of a product or service. It is particularly relevant to companies in the manufacturing, retailing, distributive and construction sectors, but its importance to the service sector and not-for-profit/ governmental sectors should not be overlooked – especially in relation to work-in-progress. This programme looks at the range of issues involved in reducing stock and/or work in progress levels, and how an organisation might set about improving them, and achieving continuous improvement.

Further Details

ST is an important measure because it reflects the level of control and co-ordination of ‘materials’ that flow through the process. ST ratios reveal how much control a business has over a process. Tightly controlled processes needs only low levels of raw material and work-in-progress (WIP), and result in less costly and cash-intensive processes, less space requirements and faster response time. This programme looks at the range of issues involved in reducing stock and/or work in progress levels, and how an organisation might set about improving them, and achieving continuous improvement.

 Avoiding problems and pitfalls in international business
 Cultural Differences
 Intercultural communication skills
