People Productivity (PP) is a measure of the ratio between the number of good products or services output, and the number of direct person-hours it takes to ‘produce’ them. Using this measure can help control the people cost directly associated with output. The objective is to maximise the PP figure by either reducing the direct involvement of a person, or increasing the number of good ‘units’ output. Measuring PP helps you focus in on a key element of product cost and reduces processing time, for example by reducing wasteful work and standardising the process.
