Further Details

Not Right First Time (NRFT) measures a product's or service’s ability to match a specification and is usually expressed in `number of defect parts per million' – though other measures may be more appropriate in some sectors though the use of ppm to record defects magnifies NRFT for continual improvement. NRFT can be measured internally and externally in the operational cycle. A defective unit is a unit that does not conform to specification and may have to be scrapped or reworked.
