3 day Classroom – Non-Residential
Suitable for
Project team members not requiring a qualification as comprehensive as the PMP® may prefer to undertake the more knowledge based CAPM®, which is covered during the first 3 days of the PMP® classroom course. The course is essentially a revision programme that builds upon a delegates existing experience. On completion of the course delegates will either be ready to take the exam, or have a good understanding of how much further post course study is required before they are exam ready. Delegates wishing to study the PMP® qualification at a later date may do so by attending the final 2 days of the PMP® course.
Delegates considering the CAPM® 3 day classroom option must have a significant amount of project related experience and knowledge and should already be working in a project focused environment. Delegates with little or no project management experience should take the more comprehensive blended learning option, based around TPG Academy’s Core Courses.
To be eligible to sit the CAPM® certification delegates must meet the Project Management Institute’s (PMI’s) specific education and experience requirements and agree to adhere to a code of professional conduct.
Applicants must have either 1,500 hours of work experience on a project team or 23 hours of formal education in project management.

Exam Structure
Once previous education and experience have been validated, the final stage is to sit a 3 hour, 150 question multiple choice exam, based on the publication A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). The questions are developed by individuals from around the globe who hold the CAPM® credential and are monitored to ensure that the exam continues to be a reliable and valid assessment of project management terms and practices. The CAPM® qualification is based entirely on the topics covered in the 12 chapters of the PMBOK®. There will be no questions from the Professional Responsibility domain. All questions are knowledge based.
This is a computer based exam for delegates outside North America, which takes place at a variety of designated test centres throughout the world. Delegates are responsible for booking the exam through PMI’s web site www.pmi.org
Delegates wishing to sit the CAPM® exam must ensure they meet the PMI’s eligibility requirements prior to attending the course.
