This course explains what medicines and drugs are and how they affect the body. Medicine labels, types of medicine and home remedies, handling medicines in the home, the side effects and resident watching.
The Law and administering medicines along with how they are obtained, the keeping of records, administering, storing and disposal will be explained. The symptoms and medication used for various ailments and how they work will be discussed.
Candidates will have a workbook that they will need to complete as well as identifying correctly 20 labels. In order to receive a certificate the candidates must complete the workbook and correctly identify all the labels. The workbook can be retained as evidence of the candidate's competence.
