Entry Requirements:
Candidates must have acquired both CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills and CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, or their APL and/or APEL equivalents.

This qualification is intended for candidates who want to train to become a counsellor working in a counselling service agency. There are many different agencies and many types of associated counselling services but all agencies should provide the trainee with a service framework that includes both a line manager and clinical supervision. Successful completion of this course means that the trainees will be able to provide a therapeutic counselling service – initially within the context of an agency’s service framework but later (with experience and support from the supervisor, or by completing CBT-L5 or its equivalent) they may progress to independent practice.

On successful completion candidates will be eligible for interview for CBT - L5

Students will gain qualified counsellor status upon successful completion of this course.

Prospective Students must successfully complete the interview process and a pre-interview written statement to be accepted onto the Diploma.

This course is 4.5 hours per week for two academic years. Also there are two Study weekends, attendance of study weekends is compulsory for successful completion of course.

students must secure a placement within a counselling organisation to progress onto year two. Students must also agree to undertake 20 hours of personal therapy to be completed within the two years of their studies.
