A taster workshop to introduce learners to the basic principles eating healthily! Great for those who want to learn the basic food types, benefits and sources to assist with menu planning for a well balanced personal diet. Also useful for beginners who have been out of education but would like to progress to a new career in the nutritional industry, or for qualified therapists as a refresher who would like to gain some CPD points for insurance purposes.

Course Content:
Learners will keep a diary of their own eating habits and assess the general balance of their diets and identify areas for improvement. There will be basic theory content including world diets and illness prevalence, an overview of the fascinating human digestive system, genetic modification and organic foods and an end quiz to assess learning. Students will put together a simple portfolio of evidence.

Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements, just enthusiasm for the subject, an interest in health and eagerness to learn! You will be invited to an informal chat to assess suitability and view the studio prior to enrolment.

Progression routes:
Successful completion of the workshop may support an application for a place on a practitioner Nutritional Therapy course.
Enrolment onto other general interest workshops including Reflex zoning, Aroma Pre-blend, Skin Care, Healthy Eating, YogaNotion.

Achievement:
This is a leisure workshop and successful completion leads to a certificate of attendance which can be used to claim 9 CPD points.

Duration:
6 hours. (2 day weekend mornings or 2 evenings). Lunch is provided for full days; refreshments for part days/ evenings.
