How does it work?
The qualification is gained through a blend of workshops, self study and online testing. Candidates must achieve nine units in total of which seven are mandatory units plus a choice of two from options as stated:

• Ensure the health and safety in your work environment
• Drive community transport vehicles safely and efficiently
• Provide professional customer service
• Deal with emergencies and incidents during a Journey
• Provide a transport service for Passengers who require assistance
• Deal effectively with difficult passengers

Candidates must complete 2 optional units:

• Implement defensive driving
• Develop and maintain your work skills and knowledge
• Routine cleaning of passenger transport vehicles
• Transport parcels, luggage and other plan routes
• Process fares
• Manage and administer a small business
• Process telephone bookings
• Support learners by mentoring and coaching in the workplace
• Achieve effective working relationships with colleagues

Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at community transport vehicle drivers who wish to develop new skills and formalise existing skills leading to a nationally recognised vocational qualification.

Workshop Aims
The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of individuals who are employed in providing a passenger transport service by road. The aim of the training is to provide learners with:-
