In this course we will develop essential team building skills and knowledge required for success, as well as understanding where many teams go wrong and how to audit a team’s effectiveness. By the end of this course you will be able to:

Maximise the performance of your team members through team building
Recognise the characteristics of a high performing team
Improve the team’s productivity and sense of purpose
Apply teambuilding skills to a variety of different types of teams
Use your understanding of Belbin team roles in working with teams
Apply your knowledge of the stages teams go through in order to achieve optimum performance levels
Implement teambuilding as part of your management style
Plan, carry out and review the effectiveness of your teambuilding sessions.
The Learning Experience:
A highly participative course where participants will experiment with a range of approaches and draw on each others' experiences. With a mixture of tutor input, plenary discussions, practical indoor exercises and small group working exercises and self-assessment questionnaires, each used to develop deeper understand of the issues facing you as you attempt to build effective teams.
Participants will also have the opportunity, through the use of CCTV and the self assessment questionnaires to monitor the changes in their skills and behaviour - towards effective teambuilding skills/interventions - during the course.
There is an emphasis on participative exploration. A handbook of best practice guidelines together with a set of 'learning helpcards' supplement this course and are also provided.
Programme Outline:
The structure of the programme can vary to meet the particular needs of the group. The most effective structure is a modular one based on the principles of action learning. In outline the course programme consists:
Setting the Scene: What constitutes effective teams, teamworking and teambuilding
Getting together - experiences to develop trust and rapport
Characteristics of a high performing team
Improving a team’s productivity
The importance of morale
Understanding team roles
Teams and their dependence upon a leader
Enjoying conflict in teams (and using it)
Action Planning the application of the programme learning
Establishing follow-up learning needs.

People in leadership and management roles, especially those who wish to be able to optimise the performance of their teams.

The programme is of two day’s duration.

At OTT Consulting we believe in providing a suitable ratio of 'trainers to participants' to maximise everyone's ability to learn. We have therefore designed all our courses to accommodate 6 participants as the optimum number of participants. Where required we are happy to alter the course to accommodate more or less participants.
