Visual Awareness training is integral to Disability Awareness training and critical for front line staff and providers in service-led organisations and organisations employing a visually impaired person.
Our Visual awareness course is an introduction to topics relative to supporting blind and partially sighted people and will provide a detailed understanding of Visual Awareness issues.
Participants will have a better understanding of and will be able to–
•demonstrate their communication skills with blind or partially sighted people;
•Understand the 5 most common eye conditions and how they effect blind and partially sighted people
•the issues faced by blind or partially sighted people on a day to day basis
•guiding techniques and different canes
•The correct etiquette when aiding a guide dog user
•Understand the DDA guidelines and what help is available

The training is delivered at a location of your choice and can be customised to suit your requirements. The maximum number of attendees at one session is 20 and all attendees receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Our training costs, which include Handbooks for attendees plus all accompanying literature are as follows -
1 hour £200.00 plus VAT
2 hours £400.00 plus VAT
3 hours £500.00 plus VAT
2 X 3 hour sessions in one day £750.00 – (approx £20.00 per person based on 20 people per 3 hour session).
