DIVERSITY LEGISLATION IN PRACTICE
This one day workshop examines current employment legislation relating to diversity, and how this applies in the workplace. Through the use of case studies, the workshop will increase delegates' understanding of legislation such as the Race Relations Act, Sex Discrimination Act, Disability Discrimination Act, Employment Act, and more recent legislative changes such as the Employment Equality Regulations applying to Sexual Orientation and to Religion and Belief and, for the public sector, the Race Relations (Amendment) Act. The workshop will explain how these Acts should be applied in the workplace and will clarify areas of uncertainty such as personal and organisational liability. Delegates will gain confidence in the application of employment law and their organisation's Equal Opportunities Policy, equipping them with the knowledge to support their organisation in meeting its legal obligations, business objectives and organisational values.
