The City & Guilds 1889 CEO training is the qualification sponsored by the BPA and strongly recommended in the TMA 2004
The qualification is in two units

Unit 1: CEO role and responsibilities
Unit 2: Conflict Management

It covers contraventions, exemptions, evidence gathering, the notice processing cycle and dealing with the public

Duration is five days for Unit 1 (for experienced staff this can be condensed into three days) and two days for Unit 2

Training is carried out in a classroom environment and the exam is ‘multiple choice’, downloaded directly from City & Guilds via the internet and sat using dedicated laptop PCs — allowing for prompt results
